Strategic and operational planning for effective delivery of rail safety and security

Rail Safety & Security Asia 2011 is a dedicated 2 day conference for rail safety and security regulators, infrastructure owners, rail stakeholders, operators and leading figures from the rail safety, security and risk assessment environment in the Asia Pacific region.

Rapidly increasing traffic and passenger numbers mean that you must ensure safety and security requirements are met and appropriate risk assessment and management practices are in place. Rail Safety & Security Asia 2011’s agenda will look at critical issues in safety and security in railway systems especially with reference to design, development, operations, technology, human factors, risk assessment, policies and regulations, financing and maintenance.

Expect to meet the key stakeholders including infrastructure owners, governments, operators, regulators, rail suppliers, manufacturers, risk assessment and accreditation specialists, consultants and EPC companies. The 2 day conference will offer an unparalleled opportunity to meet, network, discuss and benchmark with your peers from the region and beyond on issues impacting your safety and security strategies.

Indian Railways – the world’s 4th largest railway network – over 63,000kms long, continues to have a patchy safety record with more than 1000 accidents since 2004 alone. This is despite a special US$3.6bn railway safety fund to make travelling safer

Speakers will address the conference from:

Rail operators, regulators, risk management solutions providers from both Asia and beyond. The presentations will be illustrated with recent case studies and practical observations on facing the challenges of railway safety and security
